About Us

Clifton Creek Primary School is a small rural school, established in 1911, which is a twenty minute drive from Bairnsdale in East Gippsland, Victoria and approximately 300 kilometres east of Melbourne. Our beautiful little school was devastated in the 2019/2020 bushfires and we have since been on a journey of healing and rebuilding.

Set in the foothills where farmland meets forest, our expansive school grounds provide an exciting outdoor play environment rich in opportunities for growth and learning. Our new rammed earth building provides a calm and spacious learning environment with 2 magnificent classrooms, a library and administrative areas. We also have a new kitchen/multi-purpose/community area for our specialist classes: Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, STEAM, art and languages. A wireless network and combination laptops and iPads ensure digital technologies are embraced as an aid to individual learning at Clifton Creek Primary School. A bike track and full-size basketball court are under construction and a chook pavilion and frog bog will be school community projects not too far away!

Like all primary schools, we implement the Victorian Curriculum with a priority on laying strong foundations in Literacy and Numeracy. However, our many special programs and school rituals along with the setting and the low student staff ratio make Clifton Creek a unique school. We have our secret garden and vegie gardens as well as a bike track coming soon. Learning is enhanced through our buddies program and Munchie Mondays (tuckshop and lunch orders) will recommence and is run entirely by students. We also have our annual Kids & Blokes evening, Mother’s Day Dinner and end of year concert. Staff participate actively in the Bairnsdale Cluster of schools and the East Gippsland Schools Network for professional purposes, working together to develop and implement shared philosophies and educational goals.
