Clifton Creek is a small rural locality with a school, a hall, three tennis courts,  a CFA shed and a handful of small businesses, farms and homes. Within this community there are ample opportunities to become involved and create connections with other like-minded people.

The Tennis Club enters a team or two in the Bairnsdale District Saturday pennant and  welcomes new players, young and old. Currently there is still no district pennant tennis competition. Whilst our courts are idle much of the time, the committee continues working to maintain the courts and surroundings in readiness for players new and old to make use of the facilities.

We recommend joining the CC Tennis Club for insurance purposes. Family membership: $50,  Adult: $30 and Junior: $15. This is fantastic value giving you 365 days per year access to the CC Tennis courts as well as insurance coverage with Tennis Victoria.

Clifton Creek Community Landcare meets every second month and has a focus on soil improvement on farmland.  It also now has a focus on environmental biodiversity improvements at our local Hall Reserve.

The Hall Committee is a voluntary group with the role of overseeing the management of our hall and reserve. It also attempts to involve  local residents in enjoyable social functions a few times each year, as well as producing an occasional flier which aims to to enhance community connections.

Country Fire Authority brigades in our area are the Sarsfield RFB and the Mt Taylor  RFB.  These volunteer fire fighters play a vital role in the emergency services protecting people and property when fire threatens.

East Gippsland Shire Library Van visits Clifton Creek each fortnight on a Wednesday. All members of the public are urged to make use of this service.  Venue is the school at 1.45pm.

Clifton Creek Playgroup    Playgroup runs at the Clifton Creek Primary School each Tuesday morning. All mums-to-be, new mums, experienced mums, care-givers and their littlies are VERY welcome.  Please join us for an hour and a half of friendship, chat, activity and fun from 10—11.30am. Community Recycling is a service offered by the primary school to local residents. We have facilities for paper recycling as well as beverage container recycling. Please place your SORTED, CLEAN recycled articles in the labelled 240 litre bins located near the front gate of the school. Unfortunately we cannot take your NON-RECYCLABLE RUBBISH, so please dispose of this in the appropriate manner. Staff at Clifton Creek Primary School volunteer their time to transport our Recycling trailer into the Bairnsdale Transfer Station.  Please consult the EG Shire website for more details on protocols regarding recycling in our Shire.    The Clifton Creek Public Hall also has bins for  recycling.

Mobile phones that are no longer required can also be left at the school, please pop them in the office – this is another way we can raise some funds for our school.

Friends of Upper Nicholson River  Local residents have recently formed the “Friends of the Upper Nicholson River” group. This group of like-minded people is committed to understanding, monitoring and preserving the biodiversity and cultural heritage of our local environment.

Connecting together through stewardship and sustainable living practices we aim to make positive contributions to the social and conservation values within our catchment.

Come and join us at an open meeting to formalise the Friends of the Upper Nicholson River, finalise the membership of the executive committee and identify our first projects.
